Our Bathurst plant was commissioned in 2013 and was Omya’s first granulation plant built in the Southern Hemisphere. A new plant in Perth was commissioned in 2020 using limestone sourced locally in Western Australia. We have a wide network of distributors serving the whole country.

Omya works with farmers and distributors to improve soil health through regular soil conditioning and supports the growth and quality of crops through mineral crop nutrition. We provide technical advice gained through years of experience.
Our granulated products include lime, dolomite, gypsum and boron to maintain soil pH and to provide calcium and magnesium nutrition, essential to crop growth. The use of granular products as an alternative to traditional powders gives farmers more flexibility by allowing application with a standard spreader at a time that suits them. Granules can also be applied by air or through seeding equipment, allowing new opportunities for treating country which may not have been available in the past.
Omya’s granulated products are manufactured in Australia from natural minerals and can be stored in weather-proof bulk bags on farm until needed. Products include Calciprill, Calciprill +B, Omya Sulfoprill 14 and Magprill. Calciprill and Magprill are certified Organic Inputs.

Omya has been a major supplier of quality ground limestone into Australian livestock feed for decades. Our new granular products are now allowing feed companies to incorporate extremely fine, highly reactive limestone into feed rations without the accompanying dust issues.
The granule form mixes evenly through the ration and our molasses binder improves palatability.
This ensures that each animal ingests the correct dose to maintain their required calcium intake. Omya’s Bathurst Plant is certified as an animal feed production site under FIAAA Code of Practice.
